Don’t Worry. Be Happy. (At Berklee.)

Mr. Bobby McFerrin was at the Berklee Performance Center tonight.

Bobby gave a talk on musical improvisation, held a Q&A and gave the audience a few tips to improve their own skills. He even sang a few songs too, including his own rendition of “Blackbird” by the Beatles.

What I want to know is how he managed to write the catchiest song of all time. Anyone have an answer to that?

Anyhow, there you go. Another cool event that I missed. And apparently Governer Deval Patrick was there too. Interesting.

Hey, did you know he hasn’t actually performed “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” since 1988? I don’t blame him. He’s a musical genius; a composer, conductor, and vocal innovator but he’s known for that silly song.

I had no idea. However, I’m sure he still milks that song for all it’s worth. Commercial royalties? Hello!
